How this ranking works
We start from IGDB's average score, which combines critic reviews with player ratings. So that a game with a handful of votes can't overtake one rated by hundreds of people, the order uses a weighted average: the fewer votes a game has, the closer its score is pulled towards a neutral 70. That's why a game with a higher score can sit below one with more ratings.
The list includes full games, remakes, remasters and standalone expansions released in 2026, with at least one critic review and five player ratings. DLC, ports and special editions are left out. What counts is the first release date on any platform, so an older game that has just arrived on a new console doesn't appear.
The list updates automatically every day with data from IGDB.
